Susan Rose
An entrepreneur who started her career by building dunnhumby’s analytics team in the1990s, moving on to co-found and sell two successful customer analytics and software businesses, 5one and Zinc Retail, before starting Science of Shopping.
An expert in customer behavioural modelling and highly experienced in leveraging customer insight to build effective customer strategy and create commercial advantage, Susan is considered as a leading practitioner in this space in particular in retail.
Her clients range from high fashion to luxury brands and from convenience stores to big box grocery around the world.
Highly energetic in work and at play, Susan loves CrossFit, running, hiking, skiing and travel.
Stephen Rose
With a background in software engineering and data analysis, helped launch a series of businesses which started with a management buyout of TPD in 1999 and led to the founding of 5one, followed by Zinc Retail and now Science of Shopping.
His career began in the early 1990s, developing forecasting models using Fortran and C. He moved into web development in the mid 1990s, working on various innovative web-based projects, developing a search engine as well as an early email personalisation and marketing tool.
Since 2002 he has worked on providing technological solutions for retailers, and particular the automation of complex analytical processes.
Loves making ideas work. Enjoys running, reading and training spaniels.
